This darling girl, Katy.

I met this lovely fairly recently, and she is a treasured soul.
We spent the afternoon eating Chinese, listening to the rain on the roof, watching Charade, and soaking in the coziness of this lazy fall day.
Singing harmony, being barefoot, and smiling eyes are three small joys that make her heart smile.

Meet Katy...

A frosty birthday eve.

I spent last night with the kiddos I nanny. They were still fast asleep when I got up this morning, so I snuck outside to steal a few photos of the sunrise - winter has some of the most beautiful! Everything glittered and there was chilly bite to the air.
Although it's not technically winter yet, it most definitely felt like it when I stepped outside barefoot! I am considering it to now be the official start to Christmastime! I usually try to hold off on the Christmas music until Thanksgiving Day, but this year I just couldn't help myself. :)

Psalm 121

I will lift up my eyes to the mountains;
From where shall my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.
He will not allow your foot to slip;
He who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, He who keeps Israel
Will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord is your keeper;
The Lord is your shade on your right hand.
The sun will not smite you by day,
Nor the moon by night.
The Lord will protect you from all evil;
He will keep your soul.
The Lord will guard your going out and your coming in
From this time forth and forever.

Fall of 2013

Re: Stacks by Bon Iver on Grooveshark

It was a foggy morning a few weeks ago and I was driving home after visiting a friend. I started out taking the backroads only to avoid construction, but it turned out to be a beautifully unintentional photographing adventure! The trees were nearly at their peak of fall color, and the fog just added to the fall splendor.

So here are some photos to show how I perceive the beauty in valleys and on the ridges of Southwest Wisconsin.

Soon...

So far this fall has been mostly sunny and warm, and I've loved every minute of it! However, I am greatly looking forward to the crisp bite in the air, wearing cozy clothes, and sitting in front of the wood stove to watch the flames dance. So for now, here are three photos I shot on film that remind of what's coming. <3

Morning Hues

I love waking up to mornings like this one. Morning light colors are some of the most beautiful and peaceful hues, but most days I wake up when they've long expired. When fog takes over the valley it gives the impression that there's a sort of magic in the air. It makes me feel as though I've entered a whole other world. These are a few photos I captured last week on a day that I happened to be up quite early.

The Muellenberg Boys

This week I got to spend most of my Wednesday with the sweet Muellenberg boys.
We had a fun day of reading books, playing detectives, slaying dragons, and playing under the trees in the leaves.
I happened to have my camera with me, and I ended up snapping quite a few photos.
Here are a handful of some of my favorite moments of the day...
