Fall of 2013

Re: Stacks by Bon Iver on Grooveshark

It was a foggy morning a few weeks ago and I was driving home after visiting a friend. I started out taking the backroads only to avoid construction, but it turned out to be a beautifully unintentional photographing adventure! The trees were nearly at their peak of fall color, and the fog just added to the fall splendor.

So here are some photos to show how I perceive the beauty in valleys and on the ridges of Southwest Wisconsin.

Soon...

So far this fall has been mostly sunny and warm, and I've loved every minute of it! However, I am greatly looking forward to the crisp bite in the air, wearing cozy clothes, and sitting in front of the wood stove to watch the flames dance. So for now, here are three photos I shot on film that remind of what's coming. <3

Morning Hues

I love waking up to mornings like this one. Morning light colors are some of the most beautiful and peaceful hues, but most days I wake up when they've long expired. When fog takes over the valley it gives the impression that there's a sort of magic in the air. It makes me feel as though I've entered a whole other world. These are a few photos I captured last week on a day that I happened to be up quite early.
