Raina

I had originally posted a few, very small photos from Raina's shoot that I did with Krystal Mullenberg. I thought it was time I finally did a decent post with normal-sized photos. These are my favorites.

I’ve wanted to take time this winter to practice taking photos, learn more, try new ideas with my photography and actually keep this blog updated. It’s been a pretty busy last two months, between the holidays and some things that were going on with my family, but partly I wasn’t making time to do it.

On January 23rd I woke up to a gorgeous snowfall. It was draping the limbs and branches of the woods I live in with beautiful little crystals of white. I suddenly got the urge to grab my camera and go out. I had this red coat and hat I wanted to use for contrast against the snow, but without a decent tripod and a remote I couldn’t really do it myself. I called my good friend Bridgette (waking her up by doing so) and she agreed to go trudging through the snow so I could take some photos of her in the coat and hat.

We had fun and I ended up with some photos that I really love, as well as some mistakes that I’m going to learn from and (hopefully) not make again.

Hip-hip-HOORAY for getting out there and accomplishing things!

The girl with the smiling eyes

I've been really bad at this "updating the blog every week"
thing. BUT my excuse is reasonable, seeing as the last couple
weeks have been my busiest work wise, and I've been a
little sleep deprived. So now (finally) a post:

A few weeks ago I met a couple who owned a blue vintage car.
I asked if they'd be willing to let me use it in a photo shoot
sometime, and they said yes!
While visiting a local shop I found a cute blue + white striped
dress from the sixties that I knew would go perfectly.
My good friend Bethany had wanted to do a vintage shoot so
we picked a time, I did her hair + makeup and we had
ourselves a fine, fun time taking photos.
